Coconut husk chips process
Husk-chip production keeps the husk as structured pieces. It uses cutting, washing and precise screening rather than the fibre extraction and hydraulic baling used for 120 kg fibre bales.

Mature coconut husks are selected and sorted before processing. Unsuitable material and visible foreign matter are removed from the feedstock.

Whole husk material is fed through a cutting or chipping machine. Unlike fibre-bale production, the husk is retained as pieces rather than separated into loose fibre and pith.

The cut chips are washed with fresh water to remove dirt and reduce naturally occurring soluble salts. Washing requirements can be adjusted to the buyer’s specification.

The washed material is screened to separate fines, oversized pieces and unwanted matter, producing the specified 6–15 mm chip fraction.

Sized chips are dried to reduce excess moisture, then checked for particle-size consistency, cleanliness and physical condition before packing.

Approved husk chips are packed in the agreed loose or compressed format, labelled, counted and prepared for shipment.
