Pith recovery from fibre separation
Fine coir pith released during mechanical husk opening is collected separately from the long fibre stream. This recovered material becomes the feedstock for the washed-pith line.

Pre-screening and bunker loading
Recovered pith is screened to reduce coarse fibre, oversized particles and visible foreign matter before it is transferred into the dedicated wash bunkers.

Controlled washing and leaching
Inside the pith wash bunkers, water moves through the material to wash and leach the pith. This controlled stage prepares it for horticultural substrate production.

Drainage and moisture management
After washing, excess water is drained and the wet material is managed before drying. Reducing uneven moisture at this stage supports more consistent downstream drying.

Automated covered drying
The washed pith is dried inside Hexagro's large covered facility using an automated airflow-supported process designed for controlled drying at production scale.

Final screening and quality checks
Dried pith is screened again and checked for cleanliness, particle consistency and physical condition before it is approved for block compression.

Block compression, packing and dispatch
Approved pith is hydraulically compressed into transport-efficient blocks, packed to the confirmed order specification and prepared for bulk dispatch.
